About Lincolnshire, Essex & Trent Boxer Rescue

Our Story

Lincolnshire Boxer Rescue first started back in 1989. In its first year we rehomed a total of 6 dogs. When you compare that with what we are doing now it is quite phenomenal!

We were asked by Essex Boxer Rescue if we would consider amalgamating both rescues to form the Lincolnshire and Essex Boxer rescue. This took place in September 1999. Finally in 2000 we amalgamated further with the Trent Boxer Rescue to become who we are today - Lincolnshire Essex and Trent Boxer Rescue.

There are many reasons why boxers come into rescue, often through no fault of their own. Most Boxers come to us due to marriage break ups, the rest are because of  a mixture of ignorance, death of owners and misunderstanding of the breed. Whatever the reason we are only to happy to help as the welfare of boxers is our only priority.

We always do our homework first and match the dog to thier new forever family. We never have dogs to view!  Every home is thoroughly checked out and once anyone adopts a boxer from us they become part of this ever increasing boxer family. We never lose touch. We ask for photos and updates from every new home periodically, and we send out news letters once a year.

We have a Funday once a year when all new owners and their beloved dogs are invited to take part in a super day out. This is our main fund raising event of the year thus enabling us to continue the good work. We are solely funded by donations and administered entirely by voluntary helpers, without whom LETBR would not be what it is today.
